Years ago I was a sales rep for a cosmetic ingredient company. Meaning I didn't work for any cosmetic companies specifically, but sold the ingredients to large manufacturers through a broker. Because of this, I learned a wealth of information that I've taken with me though that career has long since past(for example, did you know almost every acne medication is the exact same thing if it's over the counter? Even the expensive proactive ones. You can only put 2% salicylic acid in it per law over the counter. They are all this with other inert ingredients or 10% benzoyl peroxide and inert ingredients. Just buy the cheapest and read the labels)As for shampoos, what I learned from the cosmetic scientists and companies changed how I buy them forever. Did you know we are the ONLY country who buys shampoos with Sodium Laryl Sulfate or Sodium Laureth Sulfate in them? These are the exact same stripping agents used in FLOOR CLEANER. But it's for marketing. Americans equate foaming with clean so those that foam less, even if they work better, don't sell as well...so the majority of companies add them in because they are big foamers.However they completely strip your hair and cause breakage. Once I started going to Whole Foods or Central Market and buying my shampoos without it, I never stopped...even though it's been years since I learned this. Every time I get my haircut somewhere the stylist says "you are lucky at your age you don't have to dye your hair" or something to that effect. I always say "but I do dye my hair" and they say "but your hair is in incredible shape and is really shiny. Do you not blow dry it or use a curling iron?" and I tell em I do that too.The difference is I don't strip out all the moisture with my shampoo!I need good cleaning shampoo mind you...I work out hard 6 days a week.This, fortunately is good for your hair and non stripping. The other ingredients only make it better...very natural and GOOD. My hair gleams.I also like the glass bottle. It's actually PRETTY to have out on your tub or in your shower.Negative? The price is so high. I consider it worth it in some aspects as it's the best one I've found ingredient-wise, but I'll be honest, I don't use this daily just because of the cost. I buy a shampoo called Pure that's also SLS free. I don't like the ingredients in that one as much but I can't afford to splurge for a daily wash with one priced this high so I buy that other one when it's on sale and vary it out for a win/win. However, if I COULD afford this one only for daily washes I'd use it exclusively.It does wind up being cheaper here since when ordered through amazon there is no tax.

I am trying to replace all my cosmetics with "healthy" stuff. Found this shampoo through Skin Deep reviews.I was afraid it's not gonna foam or clean well - but it does the job! Smells nice too. Washes out easily.I will try other products by this brand.My only complain: the pump broke after the first use, so now I have to pour the shampoo out of the bottle.Not a big deal, but for this price you kinda expect the package to be a little more sturdy.

I am no stranger to organic shampoos and conditioners. Ever since they came about, I was experimenting with all types of brands. High-end, low-end. Every organic Whole Foods or salon brand of hair products you can think of, I'd manage to sample or buy.This is an all right product at best. It's not worth the price tag. I've tried many of shampoos that have messed with my hair (oily, fine, but a lot of it). This does not weigh down your hair at all, but it provides no volume to note. I paired it with one of my favorite lightweight conditioners, but there was no va-va-voom the next morning like there was with Aloe 80, Kiss My Face Big Body, Sea Chi, or Healing Seed shampoos.I will not purchase the product. If you are a looking for a simple shampoo without harsh ingredients and smell, this will fit the bill. If you want the volume, look where I pointed.Also,another reviewer pointed out the pretty glass bottle, it's a no-go. I've broken a John Masters cleanser before made of glass and it was such a pain to pick the pieces off the floor and out of my skin. Glass and showers are a horrible idea, no matter how eco friendly glass may be.
