Wonderful Shampoo! I keep coming back to it..

I regularly get blonde highlights in my hair at the salon so finding a good shampoo to prevent color fade and brassiness is a must for me, as well as restore the damage left behind by the harsh chemicals that highlights pose. I have been getting highlights now for about 7 years and no shampoo has done a better job on my hair than the Anti-aging/blonde Caviar shampoo.Let me start off by saying I have relatively normal hair - not too dry, not too oily. It's medium - not too fine, not too thick. I have tried John Frieda blonde with OK results, but my color still faded quickly. I tried salon brand Redken "blonde glam" shampoo which made my hair feel like greasy straw, as well as make my highlights very, very brassy looking. I tried Pantene Pro V "blonde expressions", with still barely any luck (seemed to make my hair very thin/limp feeling). I then read about how sulfates are the worst thing you can expose to color-treated hair, and almost every shampoo out there has sulfates in it (look for Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, Ammonium Laureth Sulfate in the first 2-3 ingredients). So after learning this, my next step was to find a "sulfate-free" shampoo for my hair, so I went ahead and purchased Loreal "EverPure" Sulfate free shampoos, and WAS NOT impressed! It left my hair with an extremely greasy and heavy feel right after blow drying it, and it did NOTHING to bring out my blonde highlights either.I finally decided to ditch the low quality store-shelved shampoos, as well as lower quality salon shampoos, and go for something of high quality. I went to Sephora.com to browse their hair care line and just randomly came across the Caviar shampoo and decided to try it based on the better reviews there. This shampoo is sulfate free, so I was a little skeptical to try it since my bad experience with the sulfate free EverPure. Also I must add, at Sephora, the Caviar shampoo was $38 for ONLY the shampoo, so I deiced to check Amazon before spending that kind of money, and here it was! $21 with shipping included...so I got it here at half the price!Before giving you the results, I must say that I DID NOT use this with the Caviar blonde conditioner, as I wanted a deep conditioning mask at the time and purchased Phyto Phytocitrus Restructuring Mask for Color-Treated Hair (also a bargain on Amazon for about $5-10 cheaper than Sephora and other salons). So using this blonde Caviar shampoo with the Phytocitrus conditioner has made my hair absolutely BRILLIANT! Even being sulfate-free, my hair is extremely clean feeling and very manageable. My highlights are the complete opposite of brassy and are bright and natural looking. My fair is so soft and flowy (I get compliments after using this stuff). The shampoo also does a fabulous job reconstructing the damage left behind by coloring. It smells pleasant, but it's definitely not flowerly or fruity smelling, just a nice fresh smell really.So after using it for awhile (and ran out), I got my hair colored again, and I just wanted to try something new, so I looked at reviews for the Tigi "Dumb Blonde" shampoo which is supposed to be great for natural or color-treated blondes. It DOES have the sulfates in it which I was not fond of, but with raving reviews, I went ahead and tried it anyway. Well I for one WAS NOT impressed! It did not tone down the brassiness much, and it left my hair somewhat greasy feeling (my hair just didn't feel clean once I dried it after the shower!) I truly wanted to like the Tigi as I could purchase both the shampoo and the conditioner for about the same price as only the Caviar shampoo, plus the Tigi shampoo smelled amazing, but unfortunately, it was just NOT good for my hair!Needless to say, I turned around and ordered more of the Caviar and still use it in conjunction with the phytocitrus. I'm not sure if it's the shampoo or the phytocitrus that makes my hair baby soft, clean and bright, or the conjunction of the two, but I am one happy customer with the Caviar shampoo and will not be trying anything else out soon! Try it out for yourself if you have natural blonde or color-treated hair!****Some things to note: I would NOT use this stuff without a conditioner because it does tend to really knot up your hair after shampooing (for best results I would use with the Caviar conditioner, or the phytocitrus mask for color-treated hair). Also, the bottle isn't huge, but the shampoo is EXTREMELY thick and concentrated, so only a tiny amount is needed as it goes a long way and lasts a long time!

Strong Chemical Smell

I have light blonde hair, and was looking for a great shampoo to keep it healthy and bright. I was excited to purchase this because of the other reviews however, when it arrived the first thing I did was smell it and it smells like a strong citrus paint thinner. I still used it thinking I would spray some Kenra drying mist in it to get rid of the smell, it didn't work. I used both the shampoo and conditioner and it didn't seem to help the frizziness either. I am moving on to something else.

My hair is highlighted and I work outside at a pool so its damaged. This conditioner makes my hair silky and shiny and I only have to use it every other day. No more trips to the salon for pricey deep conditioning treatments.
